Sussex Watercolour Scenes

The Sussex seascape and landscape watercolours are an evolving body of work.

The close proximity of the dramatic South Downs and the expanse seascapes from Bognor Regis towards the Witterings near Chichester have been a constant fascination of colour, light and form.

In this body of work I have explored the beautiful intimate landscapes and seascapes of West Sussex including Ferring beach, Bosham and Chichester Harbour. Each possess an identity of accessibility and tranquillity. The more expanse and awe inspiring landscape of the South Downs, including Devil’s Dyke and wide vistas of the West Witterings coastline provide an arena of changing light and shadow that present a breathtaking and very striking contrast. I find it amazing that Sussex can encompass spectacular and contrasting landscapes and seascapes in such close proximity of one another.
