Landscape Prints

This series of prints includes processes ranging from Lithography, Screen Printing, Woodcut and Drypoint. The printmaking processes provided me with solutions to recreate studies and sketches of the landscape in a wide variety of mark making and approaches.

The locations of some of these landscapes are around the Basingstoke Canal in Hampshire. I found an intriguing spot that provided a variety of natural forms, colour and shape which stimulated me to produce a series of work that reflected changes of season, time and mood. The overall series presents abstracted representations of nature in time recreating a sense of place.

The prints ‘Tranquil Daytime’, ‘Tranquil Night-time’ and ‘Turbulent Night’ represent other locations that have provoked more emotive ideas relating to a reaction of the physical space in our natural environment.
